The featured painting this month is “Summer Field”, loosely based on wild flowers in a field.This is the new direction for me towards free use of colours. It’s very enjoyable to do. It has background of acrylic and additions in oil, acrylic paint and acrylic inks.

Norfolk artist Jean Hawke trained at Leicester College of Art. Jean works in most media: pen and ink/wash, watercolours, oils, pastels and acrylics.
She has original paintings in many private collections of buildings, landscapes, seascapes, boats, still lifes and flowers.
Jean is particularly inspired by the Norfolk landscape and skies, but has ventured further gaining inspiration from flowers, gardens and travel abroad.
Jean has recently started painting small oils “en plein air” and oil still lifes in the studio.
